M_A and Big City Forum present “After Hours,” a series of monthly gatherings that merge the art, design, and architecture communities of Los Angeles. "After Hours" invites exceptional individuals to engage in intimate conversations with a select audience. Curators, architects, designers, collectors, musicians, and filmmakers share and reflect on their passions, what they've learned through experience, and their development of agency and hope. “After Hours” is a casual discursive ambiance in which we search for a better understanding of art and life.

About Elizabeth Timme
Elizabeth Timme is co-founder and co-executive director of LA-Más, a non-profit design firm that seeks to establish the potential for design-based outcomes in Los Angeles. With a diverse background working in resource-limited environments, Elizabeth has led the office to focus on projects that critically engage systemic problems and provide solutions based on research and community engagement. To date she’s led the design and construction of the LA Watts Community Studio project and the Reseda Great Streets initiative to pilot alternative uses for pedestrian-oriented streets that would reshape and rethink the future of equitable city growth. Elizabeth teaches at Woodbury University’s Architecture & Civic Engagement (ACE) Center and serves on the Zoning Advisory Committee of Re:Code LA, a city-led effort to transform the city’s outdated zoning code. She holds a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Southern California.
About Bryony Roberts
Bryony Roberts is the principal of the design and research practice Bryony Roberts Studio, based in Los Angeles. She earned her BA from Yale University and her Masters in Architecture from the Princeton School of Architecture. Combining strategies from art, architecture, and historic preservation, her practice operates at a range of scales from installations to urban design to publications, often addressing the transformation of existing architecture. Her work has been exhibited in Rome, Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York, and her writing has been published in Log, Architectural Record, and Pidgin. She recently guest edited an issue of Log on the theme of New Ancients with Dora Epstein Jones in 2014. She has taught architecture at Rice University, SCI-Arc and the Oslo School of Architecture, and has been awarded the Rome Prize to develop her work at the American Academy in Rome for 2015-2016.
